1. Information we collect

Neelaxmi ("we", "us", "the platform") is an NCERT reading and practice tool operated under Team neelaxmi_official / NEELAXMI THE UNION. We collect information in a few ways:

Information you provide directly

• Account details when you sign up, such as your name and email address, handled through Firebase Authentication
• Any messages you send us directly, for example through the contact form or Telegram

Information collected automatically

• Usage data such as which chapters you open, quiz attempts and scores, and reading progress, stored in Firebase Firestore so your position and results are saved across sessions
• Device and browser information (type, screen size, operating system) and approximate location derived from IP address, for basic analytics and to keep the reader working correctly across devices
• Cookies and similar technologies used for sign-in, remembering your theme preference, and — where enabled — advertising, as described in Section 3

If you use the referral program, we also store your referral code, who referred you, your coin balance and, when you request a withdrawal, the UPI ID you provide. For paid access we store the payment screenshot and details you submit for verification.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and maintain the reading and quiz features, including saving your progress
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Respond to support requests sent through the contact form or Telegram
• Understand aggregate usage patterns so we can improve chapters, highlights, and performance
• Serve advertising through Google AdSense, where implemented, to help support free access to the platform

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies, Google AdSense & advertising

This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function (like keeping you signed in or remembering a light/dark theme choice); others support analytics and advertising.

Where Google AdSense is active on this site, Google and its partners may use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This may include personalised advertising unless you have opted out.

• You can find general information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
• Third-party vendors, including Google, may also use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet

You can disable cookies generally through your browser settings, though doing so may affect sign-in and other features of the platform.

4. Third-party services

Neelaxmi is built without a custom backend server and relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication and Firestore database, used to store account and progress data
• Google AdSense — advertising, where implemented on this site
• Telegram — our community channel; messages you send there are governed by Telegram's own privacy policy

5. Data sharing & retention

We do not share your personal data with third parties except: (a) service providers listed in Section 4 that process data on our behalf, (b) where required by law, or (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Neelaxmi, our users, or others.

We retain account and progress data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Section 6.

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

You can also manage ad personalisation directly through Google's own settings at adssettings.google.com, and through the Digital Advertising Alliance if you are in the US, or the Your Online Choices platform if you are in the EU.

7. Children's privacy

Neelaxmi is intended for students preparing for NEET UG and JEE Main, who are typically teenagers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Data security

We rely on Firebase's built-in security infrastructure (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases) to protect stored data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Neelaxmi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
